Belgian International 2009, Draw

The Draw for the Belgian International 2009 was released today. I have been put in a duel to the death with Qualifier number 7…..or a best out of 3 sets to 21 points:) It is hard to say who will make it out of that qualifying but I can say that I look forward to competing. I leave on Thursday morning to Belgium arriving in the early afternoon. I will then play on friday but not quite sure what time yet.
I will keep training hard for the next few days to make sure I am ready for this weekend.

Lyngby moves into the Semi Finals of the Copenhagen Cup!

Today was my first day coaching a team match for my new club Lyngby. I am actualy the assisstant coach/player for Lyngby and the big cheese/head coach is Kaveh Mehrabi who is a good friend of mine. So if i put this in Star Trek the Next Generation terms….Kaveh is Captain Jean Luc Picard and I am William Riker, Picards number 1. But today I was controling the helm since Kaveh could not make it. We have entered a team match tournament which is called the Copenhagen Cup. We played our round of 16 a week ago and today we played our Quarter Finals against a club called SMASH. We ended up winning 12-1, only losing our mixed doubles. I was able to win both my matches, yes even my doubles, and coach the team at the same time. It was very exciting.
Now we play against a VERY strong team next week….Gentofte. They are in the Elite division, wich is much higher than us, but all depending on what team they put forward we could have a chance to win. We have a very strong men’s side and a solid woman’s side. So we will see what happens.

The actual league season will start the end of September so this is great preperation for our club.
GO LYNGBY!!!!

Belgian International 2009 Entry List

After missing the World Championships in India I have decided to make my little comeback in Mechelen,Belgium. I will be participating in this year’s Belgian International 2009 and the list of entries are out. I will be the 6th seed in the tournament. The first seed is Marc Zwiebler (Germany) and the second seed is Carl Baxter (England). As usual the number of entries for this tournament is very big and level of players is high. It is the first EBU tournament of the year and it is easily accessible, which means alot of players want to play.

I look forward to seeing who I will end up playing…..but that we will find out next week.
