Early Exit From Croatian International 2009

A dissapointing day for me in Zagreb,Croatia. It is two tournaments in a row that I am not on form. It is a shame since My last two team matches I have been able to play some quality badminton. But not these last two weeks. I had a tough match against this Markus HEIKKINEN (Finland), I lost in two straight sets 21-14 23-21. The first set I had a very difficult time adjust to his shots from the front and back court. I was down in the first half of the first set but then managed to get back to 12-12. After that i gave away too many easy points and ran away with the set. In the second set I was still struggling quite a bit but always nipping at his heels. I managed to take a 19-17 lead but then let him get back to 20-20. I had one set point at 21-20 but could not close the deal. All in all it was not one of my best matches but like my previous match at the German I have to take ANY positives out of this. The one thing that was good was that even that I was REALLY struggling during the match I kept my composure and came one rally away from taking the second set. Normaly I would have lost my composure and most likely have lost easily in the second. If I can keep this good attitude and combine it with quality play it will have much more beneficial results.
Lets see what I can do next week at the Swiss Open.
