Quarter Finals Results of Swiss Open 2009

The quarter finals are over and now there are only 4 left in the tournament. The bottom half of the draw was relatively uneventful with Lin Dan (China) and Chen Jin (China) cruising into the semi finals and will play each like last week at the All England 2009. Hopefully this time Chen Jin will be healthy enough to finish the match…
However the top half was loaded with excitement. An incredible battle between Chong Wei Lee (Malaysia) and Taufik Hidayat (Indonesia). Those two played over one hour and went the distance. In the end Chong Wei Lee took the match 21-23 21-12 21-19. It must have been a spectators delight. Finally there were the “new guys” playing to see would make their first Super Series Semi Finals of the year. This match was between Jan O Jorgensen (Denmark) and Sairul Amar AYOB (Malaysia). I believe that Jan O was pretty convincing by winning 21-18 21-16. He must be feeling great and hope he keeps it up in his match against Chong Wei Lee.
