U.S Open Grand Prix 2009

I have arrived today from Winnipeg,Canada, into sunny California The U.S Open is being held at the Orange County Badminton Club and has thrown up 80 000$ to make it the only Grand Prix tournament in North America. I am coming into this tournament as the 4th seed and feel quite ready after our training camp last week. Last year I made the quarter finals and I hope to top that this year by making the semi finals. However to make it to that stage I will have to go through last year champion Andrew Dabeka (Canada).
This year’s top seed is Taufik Hidayat (Indonesia). He has made his way down to Orange County and is the clear favorite to win this tournament…..unless I have something to do about that
I play my first match against the winner of Yau Hwa Chan (USA) and Thomas Ellis (New Zealand). I have never seen either of them play so I will have to be prepared for anything. My match will start on Tuesday at 3.30pm.
